Walmart MFS (Marketplace Fulfillment Services) is a dropshipping solution designed for third-party sellers who wish to use Walmart’s platform to sell products. There are two primary models of fulfillment under MFS: 2-step fulfillment and 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) dropshipping.
  1. 2-Step Fulfillment:
    • In this model, sellers list products on Walmart’s marketplace but choose to fulfill orders through Walmart’s own fulfillment network.
    • The seller ships the product to Walmart’s fulfillment center, where it is stored, picked, packed, and shipped to the customer when an order is placed.
    • Walmart handles customer service and returns for the seller, which allows sellers to leverage Walmart’s robust supply chain and logistics infrastructure.
  2. 3PL Dropshipping:
    • In the 3PL dropshipping model, the seller partners with a third-party logistics provider to store and fulfill their inventory, while Walmart acts as a sales platform.
    • Sellers manage their own product listings, prices, and marketing, but rely on third-party logistics companies to handle shipping and returns.
    • This model gives sellers flexibility in managing their supply chain while using Walmart’s vast customer reach to drive sales.
Both models allow sellers to tap into Walmart’s extensive customer base while minimizing the burden of managing inventory, order fulfillment, and logistics. Walmart’s MFS service is designed to streamline the selling process, offering an efficient way to scale e-commerce businesses.
